What it is
I Ching: Fifty Stalks is an iPhone app that casts the I Ching by the traditional yarrow stalk method. You bring one question. You mix a heap of forty-nine stalks with your fingers and divide it by hand, three divisions for each line, six lines for a hexagram. The counting follows the classical Da Yan sort, and the division you make is the only source of chance in the cast.
What is in it
The app contains the long classical method and a shorter three-division method, the complete text of all sixty-four hexagrams in James Legge's 1899 translation, a reference book of the hexagrams, and a private journal that keeps each question and its reading on your device.
